In 2020, we launched a campaign to add 30,000 square feet onto our existing space. The expansion was officially completed in 2023, allowing us to take hundreds off of our waitlist.

We can finally fit our entire community in our beautiful and updated space.
But we need your support to continue paying off our loans to ensure this building is financially sustainable for our community for years to come.
Join the Shovel Club!
DAA adds one grade level each year and, after our 2nd school year, we no longer fit in our old rented space. With your help, we were able to buy a school building of our own! But by 2020 (and hundreds of more students), we were bursting at the seams. By adding on 30,000 square feet to our existing facilities, we will be able to fit our entire community even when we’re at full scale. We need to continue to work towards our goal of raising $3,000,000 in committed monthly or annual pledges (over a five year period) in order to pay off our loans and make this building sustainable for our community.
Shovel Club is a group that we’ve created for anyone who makes a long-term financial commitment (of any size) to support our building expansion. One-time gifts are always appreciated (there really is no gift that is too small) and if you’re able, ongoing pledges allow us to have increased financial stability and sustainability for our community for years to come.

We feel so lucky to be located in Northwest Detroit - where many of our families and staff live! Great schools can make huge impacts on neighborhoods (fast and authentically!), and this community truly deserves it.
